SME Loan Green e-Assessment Platform

One-stop self-service platform, complete green assessment at ease
 
Green finance has become an internationally significant topic. Global investors have gradually valued the importance of the investment products which conform to the concept of sustainability. In order to encourage more SMEs to develop and participate in green business, invest in environmental protection projects, and promote the development of green finance in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA) launched the "SME Loan Green e-Assessment" Platform. 

This platform is a quick and easy way to let SMEs of any industry to conduct green assessments for their loan projects. Companies that successfully pass the two-stage assessment will receive an Assessment Statement for the two stages, indicating that the green projects they loan are of green nature and conducted environmental impact reporting and make contribution to sustainable finance.
 

Eligible Applicant
  • SME Loan Green e-Assessment is targeted at SME clients of e-Assessment's partner banks. 
  • The total loan amount is suggested to be 20 million Hong Kong dollars or below. HKQAA will also determine if applications of total loan amount above HK$20 million will be accepted on a case-by-case basis. 
  • The Scheme does not impose restrictions on the proportion of green proceeds raised in terms of the total amount of the loan. However, the loan proceeds must allocate to at least one green project. 
  • The assessment scope refers to the green portion of the loan. Applicant does not need to provide information for non-green use of proceeds.
